Street Lighting Renewal at Bankton Junction on the A1

Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland is set to renew street lighting on the slip roads at Bankton Junction on the A1.
A series of overnight slip road closures are required to allow safe access for operatives to carry out the works. The following closures are scheduled:
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “This programme of works to renew street lighting columns on the A1 at Bankton Junction has been carefully planned to minimise the impact on the travelling public.
“We always avoid closing roads wherever it is safe and practical to do so, however some overnight slip road closures are essential to allow these works to be carried out safely.
“If you plan to use Bankton Junction at night over the next few weeks, our advice is to plan ahead and allow a few extra minutes for your journey.
“We thank road users in advance for their patience and understanding."
