Traffic Scotland's traffic and travel information data is made available to other organisations such as local authorities, information providers and other national roads authorities via the feeds below, for approved subscribers.

When using our data, along with abiding by any associated terms and conditions, please note:

  • Traffic Scotland must be clearly credited as the data source.
  • Any URLs provided as part of the data feed must remain unchanged and functional
  • Traffic Scotland reserves the right to remove / block users if their use of data is causing a degradation of the Traffic Scotland service.

Traffic Scotland provides no guarantees regarding the availability or uptime of data feeds but we use our best endeavours to make the information available at all times.

Live Traffic Camera FTP Service

The Traffic Scotland Live Traffic Camera FTP Service provides registered users with FTP access to all of Traffic Scotland’s Live Traffic Camera images. Registered users will be provided with FTP access to live images and an up to date list of current cameras and their coordinates so that they can be displayed on a map if required.

DATEX II

Traffic Scotland traffic and travel information data is made available to other organisations such as local authorities, information providers and other national roads authorities via the Traffic Scotland DATEX II feed for approved subscribers. To subscribe for this service users need to be registered and approved, instructions on how to apply can be found on our developer portal.

Public Transport Journey Planning Tool

Traffic Scotland are partnered with Traveline Scotland to provide public transport information. Traveline Scotland provide their own journey planning widget that can be customised and embedded within your own website. The widget is provided in html format and can be fully customised in terms of presentation. It can be accessed on Traveline Scotland’s website.

Traffic Scotland Radio Banner

The Traffic Scotland Radio service provides frequent national traffic and travel information bulletins focused on the strategic motorway and trunk road networks streamed over the internet. Traffic Scotland provide a range of html banners that can be embedded within your website to link to the Traffic Scotland Radio service. The banner images are hosted by Traffic Scotland, all that is required is to add the html code to your website.
