M9 Junction 4 Southbound Off Slip | Investigation Works
The M9 Junction 4 southbound off-slip will be closed between 19:30 and 06:00 on the nights of Monday 26 and Tuesday 27 October, to allow for investigation works in advance of future resurfacing.
The project will be carried out by Transport Scotland’s operating company, BEAR Scotland, and will involve investigating 676 metres of carriageway on the slip road from the motorway onto Lathallan Roundabout.
During these overnight closures, a signed diversion route will be in place. Traffic will be directed to continue southbound on the M9 to turn at Junction 2 and return northbound to exit via the M9 Junction 4 northbound off-slip. This is expected to add an additional 13 minutes and 14 miles to journeys.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South-East Network Manager, said "Closing the slip road is essential to ensure the safety of both road users and our workforce during these resurfacing works.
"We’ll do this overnight to minimise disruption as much as possible, however we understand this may still cause inconvenience for some road users.
“If you need to use this route during the works, our advice is to plan ahead and allow extra time for the diversion.”
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
