M9 Junction 2 Southbound Off-slip | Ironwork Improvements

Philipstoun
19th of May 2025, 7:30pm to 22nd of May 2025, 6:00am

The slip road exiting the southbound M9 at Junction 2 Philipstoun will be closed between 19:30 and 06:00 on the nights of 19, 20 and 21 May, to allow Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland to carry out ironwork improvement works.

During these closures, a signed diversion route will be in place via M9 Junction 1A Kirkliston, the M90 northbound and the A904 westbound. This is projected to add an estimated 14 minutes and 11.9 additional miles to affected journeys.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These ironwork improvements will improve ride quality and safety for motorists using the M9 Junction 2 southbound off-slip.

“A slip road closure is essential for safety, however we’ve scheduled the works overnight to minimise disruption.

“If you do need to travel during these works, please allow some extra time for your journey.”

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and other relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
