M80 & M73 | Overnight Drainage Works

22nd of April 2025, 8:00pm to 30th of April 2025, 6:00am

As part of a rolling programme of maintenance works, a series of overnight lane and total carriageway closures are due to get underway on Tuesday 22 April to allow essential maintenance works on the filter drains on the verges of the M80, between Junctions 3 and 4, and on the M73, south of Junction 3.

To keep roadworkers, as well as road users safe, works will be completed in phases over an eight-day period. All works will take place between 8pm and 6am, with signed diversions in place where necessary. There will be no traffic restriction outwith these hours.

Full programme of works can be found here:

Commenting on the works, Carnie Morrison, Highway Management (Scotland) Limited General Manager, said: “These essential drainage maintenance works are being carried out overnight when traffic flows are reduced to minimise delays to motorists as much as possible.
“Carriageway closures are vital to ensure the safety of the workforce and motorists, however we will look to complete these works as quickly and safely as possible.

“We thank all road users for their patience and encourage motorists to plan their journeys in advance by checking the Traffic Scotland website.”
