M8 Kingston Bridge Complex | Continued Inspections Works

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, are undertaking essential reactive bridge inspections across the M8 Kingston Bridge Complex. Work will continue on Thursday 24th April 2025, and finish on the Friday 25th April 2025, between 8pm and 6am.
The following overnight road closures will be in place:
Thursday 24th April
Argyle St Eastbound – Between Newton St and North St:
Diverted traffic: Turn left on to A804 North St, turn right on to St Vincent St, turn right on to Newton St, Turn left on to A814 Argyle St, where this diversion will end.
M8 Junction 18 Anderston Off Slip Closure:
Diverted traffic: Continue on the M8 Westbound, M8 Jct 20 Off slip, West St, Kingston St, Commerce St, A77 George V Bridge, The Broomielaw, Brown St, Argyle St, where this diversion will end.
M8 Junction 17 On Slip
Diverted traffic: Turn left onto Charing X, A804 St Georges Rd, A804 Newton St, Argyle St, where this diversion will end.
A804 Newton St – Between Argyle St and The Broomielaw:
Westbound traffic: Continue on Argyle St Eastbound to James Watt St and the Broomielaw, where this diversion will end.
Eastbound traffic: Continue on Argyle St Westbound to the Clydeside Expressway, Finnieston St, Lancefield Quay and follow on to the Broomielaw where this diversion will end.
Friday 25th April
A804 Newton St – Between Argyle St and The Broomielaw:
Westbound traffic: Continue on Argyle St Eastbound to James Watt St and the Broomielaw, where this diversion will end.
Eastbound traffic: Continue on Argyle St Westbound to the Clydeside Expressway, Finnieston St, Lancefield Quay and follow on to the Broomielaw where this diversion will end.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please be conscious of other roadworks across the M8 corridor through Glasgow, any vehicles entering the LEZ as part of the diversion route must always follow the diversion signage. Any vehicles that deviate from the published diversion route may be issued with penalty charge notice(s) from Glasgow City Council should they be captured out with the agreed diversion route.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
These schemes have been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, Glasgow City Council, and other key stakeholders. These schemes will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition and safety of the structures and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
