M8 Georgetown Road | Bridge Expansion Joint Replacements

St. James Interchange
9th of December 2024, 10:00pm to 20th of December 2024, 6:00am

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential bridge expansion joint replacements on the M8 at Georgetown Road, between St. James Interchange and Inchinnan Business Park, from Monday 9th December until Friday 20th December 2024. This work will take place overnight between the hours of 10pm and 6am, each night.

To facilitate these works, lane closures are required at this location and the programme of closures is as follows:

  • Monday 9th December until Friday 13th December 2024: There will be a closure of both Lanes One and Two in both directions with traffic diverted onto the hard shoulder.
  • Monday 16th December until Tuesday 17th December 2024: There will be a hard shoulder and Lane One closure on the westbound carriageway.
  • Wednesday 18th December until Thursday 19th December 2024: There will be a hard shoulder and Lane One closure on the eastbound carriageway.
Friday 20th December 2024: There will be a hard shoulder and Lane One closure on both the eastbound and westbound carriageways.
  • Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition and performance of the structure, reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.

Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
