The A977 north of Kincardine is set for an upgrade, with Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland planning to widen the northbound side of the road over eight weeks, beginning on Monday 17 October.

For the safety of road users and the workforce, temporary traffic lights will be in place on the A977 between Kilbagie Roundabout and Gartarry Roundabout between 19:30 and 06:30 each weekday night from Monday 17 October until Monday 12 December.

Occasional overnight closures will also be required, with a diversion route signposted. These closures will be advertised when dates are confirmed.

No work is scheduled for Saturday or Sunday nights.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “This road widening scheme will reduce queuing and congestion around Kilbagie and Gartarry Roundabouts during peak times.

“It will be necessary to close one lane of the A977 each weekday night during the works, with temporary traffic lights in place. Occasional overnight full closures of the road will also be required, and these will be advertised when dates are confirmed.

“We’re grateful to road users and local communities for their patience and understanding. We’ll do all we can to complete the works as quickly and safely as possible.”
