A96 Pitcaple to Oyne | Overnight Resurfacing Work

Aberdeenshire
15th of April 2025, 7:30pm to 2nd of May 2025, 6:30am

The A96 between Pitcaple and Oyne in Aberdeenshire is set to benefit from a £767,000 investment that will deliver improvements to more than 1600 metres of the road surface.

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out overnight resurfacing on the A96 trunk road between Tuesday 15th April and Friday 2nd May.

Work will take place between Knockollochie Cottages and the B9002.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight convoy between 7.30pm and 6.30am.

There will be no overnight work on each Friday and Saturday during the work period, Friday 18th/Saturday 19th April, and Friday 25th/Saturday 26th April.

All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on Friday 2nd May.

The Chapel of Garioch junction will be closed when works are taking place across it. Traffic should follow local roads from Pitcaple.

The resurfacing will benefit more than 10,000 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.
