A95 Between Ballindalloch and Tormore | Further Improvements
Amey is undertaking further improvements on the A95 between Ballindalloch and Tormore from Sunday 25th October to Friday 4th December.
The essential maintenance, which Amey is delivering on behalf of Transport Scotland, includes resurfacing of approximately 900 metres of the A95 carriageway, covering both directions, to the east of the B9008 junction for Glenlivet and Drumin Castle.
The programme also includes road marking, woodland management, investigation works and high-friction surfacing.
The improvements will complement recent resurfacing and drainage improvements on approximately 620 metres of the A95 at Bridge of Avon, forming part of a wider programme of investment along this section of the route.
To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, the works will require overnight closures of the A95, with temporary traffic lights in operation during the day.
Overnight
A95 closed from 7.30pm to 5.30am.
Traffic will be escorted through the works area at regular intervals (amnesties) during the closure at 8.30pm, 9.30pm, 10.30pm and 11.30pm, with further amnesties at 1.30am, 3am and 5am.
Signed diversion in place.
Daytime
Temporary traffic lights in operation.
Access to the A95 will be possible from the B9008 at Bridge of Avon for local traffic heading west on the A95.
A signed diversion will be in place via the A939, B9102 and A941, rejoining the A95 at Craigellachie, as follows:
Northbound traffic can leave the A95 at Speybridge Roundabout at Grantown-on-Spey, taking the first exit onto the A939 towards Nairn/Grantown-on-Spey/Forres. Turning right on Grantown-on-Spey High Street, traffic can follow the route to its junction with the B9102 for Craigellachie/Archietown.
Traffic can then follow the B9102 to its junction with the A941 at Dandaleith, where they can turn right onto the A941 and follow the route to rejoin the A95 at Craigellachie. Southbound traffic can take the route in reverse.
The work will benefit nearly 2,600 vehicles who use this route each day, providing a smoother journey for motorists and reducing the need for future maintenance.
All schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
