A90 Finavon Bridge | Bridge Investigation Works

A90 Finavon Bridge
25th of June 2025, 7:30am to 25th of July 2025, 5:30pm

Amey is undertaking ground investigation works at Finavon Bridge that will require A90 lane closures between Wednesday 25th June and Friday 25th July.

The structure, which is located between Forfar and Brechin, endured significant damage due to unprecedented heavy rainfall during Storm Babet in October 2023.

Amey designed and delivered a temporary repair solution in December 2023 to make this section of road safe for traffic and fully reopen Finavon Bridge, after a contraflow had been in place following the storm.

The ground investigation work, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, is required to inform future permanent repairs at the structure.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, the ground investigation works will take place under daytime lane one closures on the A90 Southbound at Finavon Bridge, between 7.30am and 5.30pm on weekdays only.

Further communications will be issued in advance of the permanent repair works starting.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
