A84 Loch Lubnaig | Carriageway Improvements
No works will take place on Friday or Saturday nights during the second A84 South End of Loch Lubnaig Scheme.
BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out essential surfacing improvements at four locations of the A84 trunk road, adjacent to Loch Lubnaig, north of Callander.
Surfacing works will begin at 7pm on Tuesday 24 June, at the southern end of Loch Lubnaig and are scheduled for completion by 5am on Saturday 19 July, at Ardchullarie More.
Road closures will be in place at the following locations during the outlined dates:
- A84 South End of Loch Lubnaig - 7pm on Tuesday 24 June until 5am on Friday 27 June
- A84 South End of Loch Lubnaig - 7pm on Sunday 29 June until 5am on Friday 11 July
- A84 Loch Lubnaig at Ardchullarie More – 7pm on Sunday 13 July until 5am Thursday 17 July
- A84 North of Ardchullarie More – 7pm on Thursday 17 July until 5am Friday 18 Jul
To minimise disruption, hourly amnesties will be in place beginning at 8pm and finishing at 4am each day during the above closures.
To allow for the installation of road markings, temporary traffic lights with a 10mph convoy will also be in place during the following dates and times:
- Friday 27 June until 5am on Saturday 28 June
- Friday 11 July until 5am on Saturday 12 July
- Friday 18 July until 5am on Saturday 19 July
The road will open to traffic at 5am each day to avoid any further disruption to drivers. A 30mph speed restriction will be in place throughout the road surfacing works.
Access through the works site for emergency services will be maintained at all times.
Euan Scott, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said: “The projects on the A84 will fix existing defects and significantly enhance the driving experience for all road users.
“Our teams are committed to executing these works quickly and with safety as our top priority. We’re grateful to the local community and road users for their patience while we complete the improvements.
“To minimise delays, we recommend that road users plan their journeys in advance by consulting the Traffic Scotland website for real-time travel updates.”
