BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out essential road surfacing works at two locations on the A835 beginning Monday 30 September 2024.

The works will involve resurfacing the road to address the deteriorating conditions, as well as improve road markings, creating a smoother and safer road for road users.

Works on the A835 Inverlael Farm, Loch Broom are scheduled to take place over four days, with works planned between 7am and 7pm. Works will start Monday 30 September from 7am and will finish on 3 October at 7pm.

The second phase of works on the A835 Lael Forest, between Braemore and Loch Broom, start on Tuesday 26 November. Works will be carried out between 7am and 7pm, and  will be completed by Thursday 5 December.

No works will take place at the weekend.

For the safety of motorists and workers, convoy operation with a 10mph speed restriction will be in place throughout both works.

Consultation has taken place with all relevant stakeholders in advance of the resurfacing improvements to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said: “These maintenance works on the A835 at Inverlael & Lael forest will help address defects and greatly improve the surface for road users.

We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these projects. We encourage motorists to plan ahead before setting out by checking the Traffic Scotland website for up-to-date travel information.”
