A830 from Lochailort to Glenfinnan | Essential Overnight Resurfacing
UPDATE: 07 August 2025: Due to the scheme requiring longer than anticipated to complete the works, the essential overnight resurfacing on the A830 from Lochailort to Glenfinnan will now extend to 11 September. please see updates to the dates below in red.
BEAR Scotland, working on behalf of Transport Scotland, will undertake overnight resurfacing works on the A830, between Lochailort and Glenfinnan, from 6th August to 11th September.
The works will take place each night between 19:00 and 06:00, excluding Friday and Saturday nights.
Within these hours, the A830 between Lochailort and Glenfinnan will be closed in both directions. Amnesties will be in place at 20:00, 21:00, 22:00, 23:00, 00:00, 02:00 and 04:00, allowing vehicles to be safely escorted through the site.
Access to properties and junctions within the closure area will be maintained during the provided amnesty times, and those looking to access will be escorted when safe to allow.
Emergency service vehicles will have full access throughout the working hours and public buses will be able to pass through in line with confirmed timetables, to maintain scheduled journeys.
Outside of these hours, traffic management will be removed, and a 30mph speed limit will be put in place to ensure the safety of traffic passing over a temporary surface.

“We have planned the work to take place overnight to minimise disruption. We thank motorists for their understanding ahead of these road improvements.”
