UPDATE (28/05/25): Due to operational issues, overnight resurfacing on the A82 Invergloy will now be completed on the morning of Thursday 26 June.

Road users travelling on the A82, north of Spean Bridge, will benefit from safer and smoother journey as resurfacing works get underway from Sunday 11 May.

Works will be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 5am each working night with work expected to be completed by the morning of Thursday 10 July. There will be no works on the nights of 15, 16 and 30 June or 1 and 2 July.

To protect the workforce and road users, short sections of the A82 will be closed in both directions during working hours with amnesties at 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, midnight, 2am and 4am to allow waiting vehicles to be escorted through the site.

Works are also planned on the A87 between Invergarry and Bun Loyne in mid-May under road closure with diversion via the A82 and the A887. Road users travelling between Spean Bridge and Bun Loyne will be affected by both closures.

Traffic management will be removed outwith working hours, however, a 30mph speed limit will remain in place, as traffic will be travelling over a temporary surface.

Access for emergency services and scheduled bus services will be maintained for the full duration of the works.

Access to properties within the closure will be maintained under amnesty. Exit from properties will be provided under escort when it is safe to do so.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative, said “These essential resurfacing works will upgrade the existing road surface, making it more durable and resilient against inclement weather, as well as providing a safer road for road users.
