A82 Grotaig | Rock slope netting

Grotaig, Loch Ness
23rd of October 2024, 12:00am to 15th of January 2025, 11:59pm

Rock slope netting works are planned for the A82 at Grotaig, Loch Ness and will take place from Wednesday 23 October for 12 weeks.

To protect road users and workers, this section of the A82 will be subject to a single lane closure with two-way traffic lights. It may be necessary to stop traffic in both directions for a maximum of ten minutes during critical activities.

BEAR Scotland has been working with all relevant stakeholders to inform them of the project and share information about the traffic management arrangements that will be in place.

Please plan your journey in advance, especially if you are travelling between Invermoriston and Drumnadrochit.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland’s North West Representative said, “The new rock slope netting will help to protect drivers and ensure the continued safe operation of the A82.

“We’ll be working hard to complete the project as quickly and safely as possible. We thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these essential road improvements.

“Please plan your journey in advance, especially if you are travelling between Invermoriston and Drumnadrochit.”
