Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the A737 southbound between St James Interchange and Linclive from Saturday 21st June until Tuesday 1st July 2025.

This work will be carried out under overnight road closures between the M8 Junction 28A and Linclive Interchange, as well as between the southbound A737 St James on-slip and the Linclive on-slip between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night of the works.

Additionally, overnight lane closures will be in place on the westbound M8 between Junctions 27 and 28A.
There will also be an overnight closure on the southbound A737 at Linclive between 8pm on Tuesday 24th June and 6am on Wednesday 25th June.

Signed diversions will operate as follows:

Saturday 21st June to Friday 27th June and Monday 30th June: Traffic from the westbound M8 will exit the motorway at Junction 29 and take the first exit onto the A726 Greenock Road, continuing onto the A761 at Gordon Street through Ferguslie before taking the second exit onto Linwood Road and continuing across three roundabouts to reach Linclive Interchange and joining the A737 southbound.

Tuesday 24th June: Traffic from the westbound M8 will exit the motorway at Junction 29 and take the first exit onto the A726 Greenock Road, continuing onto the A761 at Gordon Street through Ferguslie before taking the second exit onto Linwood Road and continuing across three roundabouts to reach Linclive Interchange and continuing across four roundabouts. At the next roundabout, traffic will take the first exit onto the A761 Bridge of Weir Road, then the first exit at the next roundabout onto the B789 Barrochan Road, following onto the High Street, Thorn Brae and Thornhill before turning right onto Beith Road and continuing to join the southbound A737 at Howwood.

Saturday 28th June and Sunday 29th June: Due to gantry works on the M8 the motorway will be closed westbound between Junctions 27 and 28. Traffic from the westbound M8 will exit the motorway at Junction 27 to follow Renfrew Road and join the above diversion at the A726 Mill Street. Traffic for Glasgow Airport will be diverted to St James Interchange to return eastbound to exit at Junction 29 and through traffic can continue onto the M8 westbound from St James.

All traffic management will be removed by 6am on Tuesday 1st July 2025.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.
