BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s trunk road operating company, will start £60k worth of vital drainage improvements on the A82 east of Onich village on 18 September.

The project will span three weeks, running from Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm, with no work on weekends.

The project involves the installation of an advanced combined kerb drainage system to replace the existing kerb and drainage gullies, ensuring the efficient removal of water from the road during storm conditions.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and road users, temporary traffic signals will be in operation, along with a temporary 30mph speed limit. Pedestrian facilities will be provided during construction.

BEAR Scotland has actively engaged with stakeholders to communicate project details and traffic management plans.

Ian Stewart, BEAR Scotland's North West Representative, said, “Safety is our top priority and this investment by Transport Scotland will significantly improve safety on this section of the A82 – an area that is known to flood.

“Traffic management measures are essential for everyone's safety. We urge all road users to follow signs and speed limits.

"We appreciate road users' patience during this project and recommend checking Traffic Scotland for real-time updates and allowing extra travel time."
