M9/M90 Junction 1A | Drainage Investigation Works
Ongoing drainage investigation works on the M90 near Kirkliston require the slip road from the M9 northbound onto the M90 at Junction 1A (Kirkliston) to be closed between 20:00 and 06:00 on the nights of Thursday 2 and Friday 3 July.
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland is carrying out the project.
A signed diversion route for traffic on the M9 northbound wishing to join the M90 will be in place, directing traffic onwards to turn at Junction 1B (Winchburgh) and return southbound to join the M90 via the M9 Junction 1A southbound off-slip. This will add an estimated 4 minutes and 3.6 miles to affected journeys.
Access will be maintained for emergency vehicles, and all traffic management will be removed during the daytime.
Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and minimise any inconvenience.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These works on the M90 involve investigating the road drainage system ahead of future repairs and improvements.
“It is essential for the safety of road workers and motorists that we close this section of the carriageway during these works, however we’ve scheduled them overnight to minimise any disruption.
“We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
