Kinross
5th of August 2026, 7:30pm to 7th of August 2026, 6:30am

Amey is carrying out emergency overnight parapet repairs on the M90 northbound between Junction 5 and Junction 6 on Wednesday 5th August and Thursday 6th August.

The repairs, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland to a bridge south of Kinross, will restore a parapet damaged in a recent vehicle strike and facilitate the removal of temporary safety barriers.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists, the repairs will take place under overnight lane restrictions and road closures. Details are as follows:

Wednesday 5th August and Thursday 6th August
Lane restriction on the M90 northbound from 7.30pm to 12am.
Full closure of the M90 between Junction 5 and Junction 6 from 12am to 6.30am. This will facilitate the removal of the temporary barrier.

Diversion details
Traffic will exit at Junction 5, follow the B996 through Gairneybank to Kinross, continue via Clashburn Way, Junction Road and Station Road before rejoining the M90 at Junction 6.

Please note that the diversion route will add up to 9 minutes additional journey time.

The essential repairs will deliver improved safety and reliability for more than 32,000 motorists who use the route each day.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
