M90 at Junction 2 | Removal of Traffic Management
The southbound carriageway of the M90 will be closed between 22:00 and 06:00 on the night of Sunday 2 August, to allow traffic management to be removed that has been in place during recent bridge works.
The major project to refurbish Masterton Viaduct, which carries the motorway at Junction 2, is nearing completion and is expected to conclude in late August. Further overnight closures of the M90 northbound and the A823(M) will be required on dates to be confirmed.
A temporary reduced speed limit will remain in force through the junction until all works are completed.
During the closure on Sunday night, a diversion will be signposted from M90 Junction 2 to M90 Junction 1C, via the A823(M), Kings Road and Admiralty Road, adding an estimated 2 miles and 6 minutes to affected journeys.
David Bishop, BEAR Scotland’s South East Bridges Manager, said: “We’re grateful to road users for their understanding and cooperation while we complete these works.
“Our people may not always be visible at the roadside, but please be aware they are working just out of sight on the sides of the bridge.”
