M90 Junction 2 Bridge Works | Additional Closures To Remove Traffic Management

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is continuing the works of the M90 Masterton Viaduct which carries the motorway at Junction 2. To allow these works, the southbound on-slip of the M90 from the A823(M) eastbound will be closed between 8pm and 6am from the evening of Monday 10 August until the morning of Monday 17 August to complete the remaining works on the southbound side of the bridge. Outwith working hours, all traffic management will be removed. Following this, the southbound carriageway will be reopened as normal.

Traffic will be diverted via the M90 northbound to turn at Junction 3 and return southbound, adding an estimated eight minutes and 6 miles onto affected journeys.

The northbound carriageway will be closed between 8pm and 6am on the night of Thursday 20 August to allow for the traffic management to be removed. Traffic management will remain in place on the hard shoulder before this date. The carriageway will be fully reopened after this closure.

Northbound traffic will be diverted off the M90 at Junction 1C to follow Admiralty Road, Kings Road and the A823(M) where traffic can rejoin the M90 northbound at Junction 2, adding an estimated 5 minutes and 2 miles onto affected journeys.

All diversions will be signed. Consultation with all relevant stakeholders has taken place.

All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
