M90 And A9 Broxden Roundabout | Resurfacing

M90/A9 Broxden Roundabout
15th of June 2025, 7:30pm to 20th of June 2025, 6:30am

Amey is undertaking overnight surfacing improvements to Broxden Roundabout at Perth from Sunday 15th June to Friday 20th June.

Broxden Roundabout connects the A9 to and from Stirling, the A9 north-south routes, the M90 motorway and the A93 Glasgow Road into Perth.

The resurfacing work, which Amey is undertaking on behalf of Transport Scotland, will improve this key junction used by traffic travelling north to Inverness, west towards Stirling and Glasgow, and east to Dundee, Aberdeen or Edinburgh.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the essential maintenance will be carried out under overnight road closures between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night. Traffic management will be removed by 6.30am on Friday 20th June.

During the overnight work one half of the roundabout will be closed at a time, and a convoy system will be in place. Traffic will be convoyed between the A9 (to and from Stirling) and the A93 Glasgow Road, with no entry or exit to the M90 or to the A9 north of the roundabout.

Signed diversions will be in place as follows:

Traffic on the A9 from Stirling looking to access the A9 north of Broxden Roundabout will be able to utilise the convoy system in place between the A9 and the A93 Glasgow Road. Traffic can then follow the A93 Glasgow Road through Perth before turning left onto Caledonian Road then left onto Barrack Street. Traffic can then take the first exit at the roundabout onto the A85 Crieff Road and rejoin the A9 northbound before Dobbies Garden Centre.

A9 southbound traffic looking to access the A9 towards Stirling can exit the A9 at MacDiarmid Park football stadium and follow the A85 to Dunkeld Road, turn right and continue onto Barrack Street, turn right onto Caledonia Road and, at York Place, turn right onto the A93 Glasgow Road to utilise the convoy system in place at Broxden Roundabout between the A93 Glasgow Road and the A9.

Traffic from the northbound M90 can continue to Junction 11 Craigend and exit to follow the A85 Dundee Road. Traffic can then turn left onto South Street then left after Queens Bridge onto the A989 Tay Street, then first right onto Canal Street and right onto King Street. Traffic can follow County Place/York Place to access the A93 Glasgow Road, or turn right onto Caledonian Road at York Place and then follow the above diversion routes as required.

Traffic from the southbound A90 from Dundee can also leave the motorway at Junction 11 Craigend and follow the above diversions.

Traffic for the A90/M90 from Perth will follow the above diversion in reverse, continuing along South Street to reach Queens Bridge.

The resurfacing will benefit more than 14,000 vehicles who use this roundabout each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
