BEAR Scotland, Transport Scotland’s operating company, is set to resurface a section of the northbound carriageway of the M9 near Linlithgow between Junctions 3 and 4.

To allow the works to be carried out safely, the northbound carriageway of the M9 will be closed from Junction 3 to Junction 4 from 19:30 until 06:00 on the nights of Wednesday 4 June, Thursday 5 June, Friday 6 June and Monday 9 June.

During these closures, a signed diversion route will be in place for northbound traffic from M9 Junction 3 Burghmuir, via the A904 and A993 through Bo’ness, then the A904, A905 and Inchyra Road to rejoin the M9 at Junction 5 Cadgers Brae. This diversion will add approximately 14 minutes  and 7.7 miles onto affected journeys.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times and all traffic management will be removed out with working hours.

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements will address defects within the carriageway, ensuring the integrity and safety of the motorway network at this location while making use of sustainable techniques to minimise the environmental impact of the works.

“We thank motorists in advance for their patience.”
