M9 Northbound Junction 1A Off Slip | Carriageway Repairs

BEAR Scotland, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will be undertaking overnight work to renew the road markings and repair carriageway defects on the M9 northbound at Junction 1A off slip to the M90 over one night on Tuesday 21 April.

For the safety of workers and road users, the M9 Off slip at Junction 1a on the northbound carriageway will be closed between 9pm and 6am.

A diversion route suitable for trunk road traffic will be signposted from Junction 1A to Junction 1B (Winchburgh) where traffic will then be directed back onto the southbound carriageway of the M9 to the off slip to Junction 1A, adding an estimated 3.5 miles and 4 minutes to affected journeys.

Consultation has taken place with relevant stakeholders in advance of these works to make them aware of the traffic management arrangements and to minimise any inconvenience.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s Southeast Network Manager, said: “These surfacing improvements on the M9 at Junction 1A will address and repair defects in the road surface such as potholes and cracks, along with refreshing faded road markings.

“It is essential for safety that we close the carriageway during these works, however we’ve scheduled them to be carried out during overnight hours to minimise any disruption.

“We thank road users in advance for their patience while our teams carry out these improvements.”
