M9 Junction 5 Southbound On Slip | Essential Investigation Works

BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Transport Scotland, is to carry out essential coring investigation works on the Junction 5 southbound on-slip of the M9, on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 August between 7.30pm and 6am.

To ensure the safety of the workforce and road users, it will be necessary to close the southbound on-slip to the M9 at Junction 5 during these works.

A signed diversion route will be in place from Cadgers Brae Roundabout via the A9 northbound, Grandsable Road and Polmont Road before rejoining the M9 southbound at Junction 4. This diversion will add approximately 1.2 miles and 5 minutes to journey times.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times, and all traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.

Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.

Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “The data collected from these coring investigation works will enable our engineers to design the most appropriate resurfacing solution.

“Our teams will do all they can to complete the works as quickly and safely as they can, and we thank the local community and road users for their patience in advance while we complete these projects.

All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
