M876 Junction 1 Eastbound On Slip | Investigation Works
The M876 Junction 1 eastbound on-slip will be closed for investigation works between 19:30 and 06:00 on the night of Monday 10 August.
The project will be carried out by Transport Scotland’s operating company, BEAR Scotland, and will involve investigating 1,200m of carriageway on the slip road in advance of future resurfacing.
During the overnight closure, a signed diversion route will be in place from M876 Junction 1 via the A883 to Checkbar Roundabout and then the B905 (Denny Road) to Larbert, turning left onto the A9 (Stirling Road) to join the M876 at Junction 2. This diversion will add approximately 6 minutes and 3 miles to affected journeys.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South-East Network Manager, said "Closing the slip road is essential to ensure the safety of both road users and our workforce during these investigation works.
"We’ll do this overnight to minimise disruption, however we understand this may still cause inconvenience for some road users.
“If you need to use this route during the works, our advice is to plan ahead and allow extra time for the diversion.”
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
