M80 Northbound Junction 9 | Investigation Works
Transport Scotland’s operating company BEAR Scotland will be carrying out coring investigation works on the northbound carriageway of the M80 between the slip roads at Junction 9 (Bannockburn Interchange), between 19:30 and 06:00 on the night of Friday 2 October.
During these hours, northbound traffic on the M80 wishing to continue onto the M9 will be diverted off the motorway onto Bannockburn Roundabout and then immediately back on via the M9 northbound on-slip. This diversion will add approximately 2 minutes and 1.7 miles to affected journeys.
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times, and all traffic management will be removed outwith working hours.
Consultation has been carried out with emergency services and relevant stakeholders to share information about the project in advance.
Tommy Deans, BEAR Scotland’s South East Network Manager, said: “These works are to let us investigate the condition of the road surface in advance of future resurfacing.
“An overnight carriageway closure is essential for the safety of motorists and the workforce, however we’ll do this at night and the diversion is short one.
“We’re grateful to road users for their understanding.”
All works are weather dependent and subject to postponement in the event of adverse conditions.
