M80 Junction 1 | Resurfacing
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the M80 northbound Junction 1 on-slip (Blochairn Road) from Monday 10th November until Friday 14th November 2025 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.
Between Monday 10th November and Tuesday 11th November, the northbound Junction 1 on-slip will be closed each night, and a single lane closure will be in operation on the M80 northbound carriageway at Junction 1. Traffic will be diverted via Blochairn Road, Viewpark Avenue, Alexandra Park Street, Alexandra Parade/Cumbernauld Road, Provanmill Road, Royston Road and Robroyston Road to join the M80 at Junction 2. Additional journey time of up to 12 minutes anticipated.
From Wednesday 12th November until Friday 14th November, the northbound M80 Junction 1 on-slip and the M8 eastbound to M80 off-slip at Junction 13 will be closed each night between the hours of 8pm and 6am. Traffic wishing to use the M80 Junction 1 on-slip will follow the above diversion.
Traffic wishing to use the M8 eastbound off-slip at Junction 13 to the M80 northbound will be directed to continue on the M8 eastbound to exit at Junction 12 on to the A80 Cumbernauld Road and follow the above diversion. Additional journey time of up to 6 minutes anticipated.
From Wednesday 12th November until Friday 14th November, the M8 Junction 15 eastbound on-slip from Castle Street will also be closed each night between the hours of 8pm and 6am. Traffic will be diverted via Castle St, Glebe St and the A803 northbound to join the M8 eastbound at the Stirling Rd on-slip. Additional journey time of up to 2 minutes anticipated.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.
