M8 Kingston Bridge | Drainage Surveys

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is continuing essential drainage surveys below the M8 Kingston Bridge Complex from Sunday 4th October until mid-November between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night. During this time a weekly press release will be issued to update on the following weeks closures.

Next week’s work will require overnight closures as outlined below.

Total Closure of Newton Street from south of St Vincent Street - overnight between Sunday 4th October – Thursday 8th October:

Traffic will be diverted between St Vincent Street, Pitt Street, West George Street, Blythswood Square, West George Street, Renfield Street, Union Street (diversion ends for non-motorway traffic), Jamaica Street, Bridge Street, Nelson Street, Morrison Street, Paterson Street, Wallace Street and Dalintober Street.

Lane Closure of Dalintober Street - Sunday 4th October – Thursday 8th October: 

No diversion required.

Total Closure of Carnoustie Street from Scotland Street to Paisley Road - overnight between Sunday 4th October – Thursday 8th October: Traffic travelling Eastbound on Scotland Street and M74 Junction 1 off-slip traffic will be diverted via Scotland Street, West Street, Morrison Street, Paisley Road and Seaward Street. Traffic travelling Westbound on Scotland Street will be diverted via Scotland Street, Seaward Street and Paisley Road.

This is the first phase of surveys in this location. Depending on findings from this phase revisits may be required. These will be added to the end of the current programme and details will be made available in due course.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway structure’s drainage network.
