M8 Kingston Bridge Complex | Essential Drainage Surveys

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is continuing essential drainage surveys below the M8 Kingston Bridge Complex from Sunday 20th September until mid-November between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night. During this time a weekly press release will be issued to update on the following weeks closures.

Next week’s work will require overnight closures as outlined below.

Total Closure of Cheapside Street – overnight between Sunday 20th September – Thursday 24th September: Traffic on Warroch Street will be diverted via Anderston Quay and North Street (A804 Northbound). Traffic on Piccadilly Street will be diverted via North Street (A804 Northbound), Argyle Street Eastbound, James Watt Street, Broomielaw, Anderston Quay and Warroch Street.

Total Closure of M8 EB Jct 20 West Street On Ramp – overnight between Sunday 20th September – Thursday 24th September: Traffic will be diverted via West Street, Kingston Street, King George V Bridge, Broomielaw, Anderston Quay and North Street (A804 Northbound).

This is the first phase of surveys in this location. Depending on findings from this phase revisits may be required. These will be added to the end of the current programme and details will be made available in due course. 

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway structure’s drainage network.
