M8 Junction 27 | Essential Investigation Works
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential site investigations on the M8 at Junction 27 (Renfrew Road) from Monday 1st September until Saturday 13th September 2025. These investigations will inform future safety improvements in this location that are currently programmed for Autumn 2025.
This work will require total overnight closures as follows:
Monday 1st September – Friday 5th September 2025: Total overnight closures of the eastbound M8 carriageway between Junctions 29 and 26.
Eastbound traffic will be directed to exit the M8 at Junction 29 and follow the A726 Greenock Road, Renfrew Road, Paisley Road West and Hillington Road to re-join the M8 at Junction 26.
Thursday 4th September & Friday 5th September 2025: Overnight Hard Shoulder and Lane 1 closure of westbound M8 carriageway between Junctions 26 and 27.
Monday 8th September – Saturday 13th September 2025: Total overnight closures of the westbound M8 carriageway between Junctions 26 and 27.
Westbound traffic will be directed to exit the M8 at Junction 26 and follow Hillington Road, Paisley Road West, Weir Street and Renfrew Road to re-join the M8 at Junction 27.
These works have been co-ordinated with the upcoming works at M8 Hillington.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by informing future road safety improvement works in this location.
