M8 at Hillington Interchange | Essential Works

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking works on the M8 at Junction 26 (Hillington Interchange) from Monday 21st September until Thursday 24th September between the hours of 10pm and 6am each night.

This work will require closures of the M8 carriageway in both directions at Junction 26 (Westbound 21st, Westbound and Eastbound 22nd and Eastbound 23rd), including the on and off slips. Signed diversions will be in operation as follows:

Monday 21st September Westbound Total Closure

M8 Main Carriageway:
Vehicles leaving the M8 at Junction 24 westbound should follow Helen Street southbound, A761, A736 northbound and the Junction 26 on slip. Vehicles leaving the M8 at Junction 24 westbound should follow Helen Street southbound to join this diversion route.

M8 Secondary Carriageway:
Traffic will be instructed to leave the M8 westbound via J23 and follow Paisly Road West, to Hillington Interchange where the diversion will end and vehicle join on to the M8 carriageway.

Tuesday 22nd September Westbound Total Closure and Eastbound Lanes 2 & 3
Westbound closure as above and eastbound lanes 2 and 3 closure 

Wednesday 23rd September Eastbound Lanes 1 & 2 and Total closure of M8 J26 E/B on slip

Traffic wishing to join the M8 eastbound at Junction 26 should continue northbound on Hillington Road and follow Renfrew Road, Shieldhall Road, Helen Street southbound and follow the route to rejoin the M8 eastbound via the Junction 24 on slip.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
