M8 at Hillington Interchange | Essential Investigations

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential site investigations on the M8 at Junction 26 (Hillington Interchange) from Monday 18th August until Friday 22nd August 2025. These investigations will inform future safety improvements in this location that are currently programmed for Autumn 2025. 
This work will require total overnight closures as follows: 


Monday 18th August – Friday 22nd August 2025: Total eastbound and westbound closures of the M8 carriageway at Hillington Interchange.  

  • Eastbound traffic will be directed to exit the M8 at Junction 26 and follow Hillington Road, Renfrew Road, Shieldhall Road and Helen Street to re-join the M8 eastbound at Junction 24. 
  • Westbound traffic will be directed to exit the M8 at Junction 25A (Braehead) and follow

 Old Govan Road, King’s Inch Road and Hillington Road to join the M8 westbound at the Junction 26 on-slip. 


Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works. 
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
