M8 Eastbound On slip | Essential Bridge Repairs

A737 at the St James Viaduct
13th of January 2026, 7:00pm to 14th of January 2026, 6:00am

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential bridge joint repairs on the M8 eastbound on slip from the A737 at the St James Viaduct, between the A737 and Junction 28A of the M8, from 7pm on Tuesday 13th January until 6am on Wednesday 14th January 2026

This work will require a single overnight closure of the M8 eastbound On Slip in this location, and traffic will be directed to exit the A737 northbound and follow the St James’ Interchange to join the M8 eastbound via the on slip.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway structures in this location.

Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
