M8 Eastbound at Junctions 18-16
16th of November 2025, 10:00pm to 24th of January 2026, 6:00am

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential maintenance on the M8 Eastbound carriageway between junction 18 and 16.

Works will take place from Sunday 16th November until 23rd January 2026, with overnight closures from 10pm until 6am. Please note, to accommodate the festive period these works will pause on Friday 19th December 2025 and restart on Sunday 4th January 2026.

This is to enable the next phase of works of the M8 Woodside Viaducts Junctions 16-17.

Signed diversion routes will be in operation.

Diversion

Eastbound M8 traffic will be taken off the M8 at junction 18/17 St George’s Road to follow signs for northbound St George’s Road. Traffic will then travel southbound on the A81 Garscube Road for eastbound A804 Dobbies Loan before re-entering the M8 at eastbound junction 16 Craighall.

Access for emergency service vehicles will not be maintained throughout these works.
