M8 Eastbound Junction 25 | Essential Resurfacing

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the M8 eastbound at Junction 25, between Fifty Pitches Road and the A739 on slip, from Friday 6th February until Thursday 12th February 2026 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night. 
 

This work will require the use of the existing overnight closure of the M8 Junction 26 eastbound on slip and closure of M8 Junction 25 eastbound off slip from 8pm on Friday 6th February until 6am on Saturday 7th February, and closures of the Junction 25 eastbound on slip, the Junction 25 eastbound off slip, the Junction 25A on slip and the Junction 25 eastbound on slip from the A739, as well as closures of the eastbound M8 carriageway between Junctions 24 and 26, each night between 8pm and 6am from Saturday 7th February until Wednesday 11th February 2026. Resurfacing will complete at 6am on Thursday 12th February 2026. 
 

Traffic wishing to use the Junction 26 eastbound on slip will be diverted at Hillington Interchange to A736 Hillington Road and directed to follow A8 Renfrew Road, A8 Shieldhall Road and Helen Street to join the M8 eastbound at the Junction 24 on slip. 
 

Traffic wishing to use the Junction 25 eastbound off slip will be directed to continue on the M8 eastbound and exit at Junction 24 to turn at Helen Street and re-join the M8 westbound at the on slip. Traffic will then exit at the Junction 25 westbound off slip and follow Cardonald Interchange to the A739, where this diversion will end. 
 

Traffic wishing to use the Junction 25A eastbound on slip from Braehead will be diverted west on Kings Inch Drive and should follow Renfrew Road, Shieldhall Road/Edmiston Drive and Helen Street to re-join the M8 eastbound at Junction 24. 
 

Traffic wishing to use the Junction 25 eastbound on slip from the A739 will be directed to follow Langlands Road, Shieldhall Road/Edmiston Drive and Helen Street to re-join the M8 eastbound at Junction 24. 
 

Carriageway traffic will be directed to exit the M8 eastbound at Junction 26 and should follow A736 Hillington Road, A8 Renfrew Road, A8 Shieldhall Road, A8 Edmiston Drive and Helen Street to re-join the M8 eastbound at Junction 24. 
 

Lane closures will also be in operation on the M8 eastbound between Junctions 27 and 26. 
 

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works. 
 

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable. 
 

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.
