M8 Eastbound Junction 16 | Resurfacing Works
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the M8 eastbound at Junction 16, including the on slip, from Thursday 20th August until Sunday 23rd August 2026.
Overnight closures of the eastbound M8 between Junctions 18 and 16, the Junction 16 eastbound on slip (Craighall), the Junction 18 eastbound on slip (Charing Cross) and the Junction 19 eastbound on slip (Anderston) will be in operation between 9pm and 6am on Thursday 20th August and 10pm and 6am on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd August.
Eastbound M8 traffic will be directed to exit the eastbound M8 at Junction 18 to follow Craighall Road, Dobbie’s Loan, Kyle Street, Baird Street, Castle Street and the Junction 15 on slip.
Traffic wishing to use the Junction 16 eastbound on slip will be diverted via Craighall Road, Dobbie’s Loan, Kyle Street, Baird Street, Castle Street and the Junction 15 on slip.
Traffic wishing to use the Junction 18 eastbound on slip will be diverted via St George’s Road, Garscube Road, Dobbie’s Loan, Craighall Road and follow the above diversion.
Traffic wishing to use the Junction 19 on slip will be diverted via North Street, St George’s Road and be directed to follow the above diversion.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.
