M8 Eastbound Junction 12 On-Slip | Resurfacing Works

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the eastbound M8 Junction 12 on slip from Friday 26th June until Tuesday 30th June 2026 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night in three phases.
 

Phase 1 – Friday 26th June & Saturday 27th June: This work will require overnight total closures of the eastbound Junction 12 on slip.
Eastbound traffic will be diverted via the B765 Gartloch Road, Ave End Road/Stepps Road and the Junction 11 on slip.
Westbound traffic will be diverted via B765 Gartloch Road, A80 Cumbernauld Road, Ave End Road/Stepps Road to join the M8 at Junction 11.
On Friday 26th June (only), the Junction 13 on slip will also require an overnight closure.
Traffic will be diverted via Provan Road, Cumbernauld Road, B765 Gartloch Road, Ave End Road/Stepps Road and the Junction 11 on slip.
 

Phase 1A – 8pm on Saturday 27th June until 6am on Sunday 28th June: On Saturday 27th June, an additional overnight closure of the B765 Gartloch Road will be required.
Eastbound traffic will be diverted via A80 Cumbernauld Road and Ave End/Stepps Road.
Westbound traffic will follow the above diversion route in reverse.
 

Phase 2 – Sunday 28th June, 6am to 8pm: This work will require total closure of the eastbound Junction 12 on slip.
Traffic will be diverted via the B765 Gartloch Road, Ave End Road/Stepps Road and the Junction 11 on slip.
 

Phase 3 – Sunday 28th June until Tuesday 30th June: This work will require overnight total closures of the eastbound Junction 12 on slip, the B765 Gartloch Road, the eastbound Junction 13 on slip and the M8 eastbound carriageway between Junctions 12 and 11.
 

Traffic wishing to use the Junction 12 on slip will be diverted via the B765 Gartloch Road, Ave End Road/Stepps Road and the Junction 11 on slip.
Eastbound B765 traffic will be diverted via A80 Cumbernauld Road and Ave End/Stepps Road.
Westbound B765 traffic will follow the above diversion route in reverse.
Traffic wishing to use the eastbound Junction 13 on slip will be diverted via Provan Road, A80 Cumbernauld Road, B765 Gartloch Road, Ave End/Stepps Road and the Junction 11 on slip.
Traffic wishing to use the eastbound M8 between Junctions 12 and 11 will be diverted via the Junction 12 off slip, A80 Cumbernauld Road, Ave End Road and the Junction 11 on slip.
 

During this phase of work, a single lane closure will be required on the eastbound M8 between Junctions 13 and 12.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
 

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
 

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.
