M8 Between Junctions 4A and 5 Near Harthill | Emergency Investigations

M8 Between Junctions 5A and 4

Traffic on the westbound M8 is currently restricted to a single lane between Junctions 4A and 5, as a safety precaution after a bridge over the motorway near Harthill Services was struck by an HGV.

The lane closure will remain in place until further notice while engineers assess the extent of the damage to the bridge.

The B718 local road over the bridge will remain open under temporary traffic lights.
