M77/A726 Glasgow Southern Orbital | Resurfacing Works

Resurfacing works are scheduled to be carried out on the A77,M77, A726 Glasgow Southern Orbital and A726 Queensway commencing on 18 August 2025.

 

The works form part of a programme of resurfacing and surface treatment to the A77,M77, A726 Glasgow Southern Orbital and A726 Queensway and will be carried out by Balfour Beatty on behalf of Connect Roads M77/GSO plc, concessionaires of the M77/GSO DBFO project working on behalf of East Renfrewshire Council and Transport Scotland.

 

In order to deliver this essential resurfacing project with minimal disruption and as safely as possible, a series of overnight full carriageway closures will be implemented on the A77/M77, A726 Glasgow Southern Orbital and A726 Queensway commencing on 18 August 2024. To deliver this important resurfacing project with minimal disruption, we need to implement a full closure of the trunk road in these location between the following times.

 

18 to 23 August 2025 – M77 Southbound between Junction 5 to Junction 8.

25 to 26 August 2025 – M77 Southbound between Junction 5 Maidenhill Interchange to DBFO Southbound Boundary.

26 to 29 August 2025 – A77 Meiklewood Interchange to M77 Junction 5 Maidenhill Interchange.

29 to 30 August 2025 – A726 GSO Maidenhill Interchange to Belle Craig Roundabout.

01 to 02 September 2025 – A726 GSO Belle Craig Roundabout to Philipshill Roundabout.
Subject to change due to weather conditions.

02 to 05 September 2025 – A726 GSO Philipshill Roundabout to Belle Craig Roundabout.
Subject to change due to weather conditions.

05 to 11 September 2025 – A726 GSO Belle Craig Roundabout to Maidenhill Interchange.
Subject to change due to weather conditions.

11 to 12 September 2025 – A726 Queensway Philipshill to West Mains Roundabout.
Subject to change due to weather conditions.

The works will be carried out under total carriageway closures at night between 2000hrs and 0600hrs from Monday to Friday for the safety of both the public and the road workers.

 

A fully signed diversion route will be in place for all closures.

 

Advanced warning signs will be positioned on the approach to the works and specified diversion routes will be in place for each night of the scheme.

 

As the resurfacing activities are weather dependent, the programmed works will be subject to change if inclement weather occurs on any of the nights.

Emergency services, bus companies and affected businesses will also be advised of the works.
