M77 Southbound at Junction 2 | Essential Resurfacing

M77 Southbound at Junction 2

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the southbound M77 at Junction 2, including the Junction 2 on slip, from Monday 15th June until Wednesday 24th June 2026 between the hours of 9pm and 6am each night.

These works are being undertaken in three phases under full overnight closures of the Junction 2 on slip and a combination of single lane and full carriageway closures of the southbound M77 between Junctions 1 and 3.

Phase 1: Monday 15th June – Saturday 20th June

Overnight closures of the southbound M77 between Junctions 2 and 3 and the Junction 2 southbound on slip will be in operation.

  • Mainline M77 traffic will be directed to exit the southbound M77 at Junction 2 and follow Barrhead Road, Kennishead Road and Nitshill Road to re-join the M77 at the Junction 3 on slip.
  • Traffic wishing to use the Junction 2 on slip will be diverted via Fairchild Avenue, Barrhead Road, Kennishead Road and Nitshill Road to join the M77 at the Junction 3 on slip.

During this time, a single lane closure will be in operation between Junctions 1 and 2 on the M77 carriageway.

Phase 1A: Thursday 18th June – Saturday 20th June

Single lane closures will be in operation between Junctions 1 and 3 to facilitate the installation of a contraflow.

Phase 2:  6am on Saturday 20th June – 9pm on Sunday 21st June

A contraflow with hard shoulder running will be in operation on both the north and southbound carriageway between Junctions 1 and 3. Additionally, a closure of the Junction 2 northbound on slip will be closed during this time.

  • Traffic wishing to use the northbound on slip at Junction 2 will be directed to continue west on Barrhead Road and follow Braidcraft Road, Corkerhill Road, Mosspark Boulevard and Dumbreck Road to join the M77 northbound at the Junction 1 on slip.

Phase 2A: Saturday 20th June – Monday 22nd June

Overnight closures of the Junction 2 southbound on slip will be in operation.

  • Traffic wishing to use the Junction 2 on slip will be diverted via Fairchild Avenue, Barrhead Road, Kennishead Road and Nitshill Road to join the M77 at the Junction 3 on slip.

Phase 3: Saturday 21st June – Wednesday 24th June

Overnight closures of the southbound M77 between Junctions 2 and 3 and the Junction 2 southbound on slip will be in operation.

  • Mainline M77 traffic will be directed to exit the southbound M77 at Junction 2 and follow Barrhead Road, Kennishead Road and Nitshill Road to re-join the M77 at the Junction 3 on slip.
  • Traffic wishing to use the Junction 2 on slip will be diverted via Fairchild Avenue, Barrhead Road, Kennishead Road and Nitshill Road to join the M77 at the Junction 3 on slip.

During this time, a single lane closure will be in operation between Junctions 1 and 2 on the M77 carriageway.

Phase 3A: Sunday 21st June – Monday 22nd June

Single lane closures will be in operation between Junctions 1 and 3 northbound to facilitate the installation of a contraflow.

 

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.
