M77 Newton Mearns | Resurfacing
Additional Closures (12/05/2026)
Please be advised that in order to complete essential resurfacing on the M77 southbound at the Junction 4 (Newton Mearns) off slip, two overnight closures will be required on Tuesday 26th May and Wednesday 27th May 2026. Traffic management will be removed by 6am on Thursday 28th May 2026.
Please be advised that essential resurfacing on the M77 southbound at the Junction 4 (Newton Mearns) off slip will now take place in two phases.
Phase 1: Friday 10th April - Monday 13th April 2026
Phase 2: Monday 11th April - Tuesday 12th May 2026.
Phase 1 will require overnight closures of the southbound off slip from Friday 10th April to Sunday 12th April 2026 between 8pm and 6am each night. A nearside lane closure will also be in place overnight between M77 junctions 3 and 4 southbound.
Traffic travelling southbound will be directed to remain on the M77 and exit at Junction 5. They will then follow the A77 Ayr Road, Barrhead Road, Westacres Roundabout, B769 Stewarton Road and Crookfur Road, where this diversion will end.
A daytime lane closure on the M77 Southbound Junction 4 off slip will be required between 6am and 8pm on Sunday 12th April 2026.
On Saturday 11th April and Sunday 12th April, the merge between the B7087 and the M77 southbound off slip will be controlled under overnight temporary traffic lights.
Traffic management will be removed by 6am on Monday 13th April 2026.
Phase 2 will require overnight closures of the southbound off slip on Monday 11th May and Tuesday 12th May 2026 between 8pm and 6am each night. Traffic will follow the above diversion.
Each night, between 8pm and 6am, the merge between the B7087 and the M77 southbound off slip will be controlled under overnight temporary traffic lights.
