M74 Northbound prior to junction 4 | Essential Resurfacing

Larkhall
22nd of August 0205, 8:00pm to 5th of September 2025, 6:00am

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the M74 northbound prior to Junction 8 at Larkhall, from Friday 22nd August until Friday 5th September as follows:

There will be overnight closures between Junctions 10 and 8 on the northbound carriageway from Friday 22nd August until Sunday 24th August and from Sunday 31st August until Thursday 4th September between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night. During these overnight closures, traffic will be directed to leave the motorway at Junction 10, following the B7078 through Kirkmuirhill to rejoin the M74 at Junction 8. This diversion will add an additional 5 minutes to journey times.

There will also be daytime lane closures in this location on Saturday 23rd August and Tuesday 2nd September between the hours of 6am and 8pm each day. Delays of up to 6 minutes may be expected whilst the lane closures are in place.

All traffic management will be removed by 6am on Friday 5th September 2025.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.

Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
