M74 North of Junction 11 | Essential Barrier Replacements
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential barrier replacements on the M74 Folkerton Mill overbridge, north of Junction 11, from Monday 12th October until Friday 30th October 2026.
This work will require single lane closures managed by temporary traffic lights between 6am and 8pm each day, followed by overnight road closures from 8pm to 6am each night. Signed diversions will be in operation as follows:
- Northbound traffic will be diverted via the B7078 Carlisle Road, A70 Ayr Road, Ridside Road and Easterton Road.
- Southbound traffic will take the above diversion route in reverse.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety of the carriageway in this location.
