Overnight closures will be in place on the southbound M74 carriageway from Tuesday 28th October until Friday 31st October and from Tuesday 9th December until Friday 12th December 2025 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night. Traffic will be directed to exit the M74 at Junction 7 and follow the A72 and A71 to re-join the M74 at Junction 8.

M74 Northbound Closures:
Overnight closures will be in place on the northbound M74 carriageway from Sunday 26th October until Tuesday 28th October and from Sunday 7th December until Wednesday 10th December 2025 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night. Traffic will follow the above diversion in reverse.

M74 Single Lane Closures:
Overnight single lane closures will be in operation on the Northbound carriageway from Monday 6th October until Friday 12th December and on the southbound carriageway from Sunday 2nd November until Wednesday 4th December 2025 between the hours of 8pm and 6am each Sunday to Thursday night.

This work will also require daytime hard shoulder closures each Monday to Friday.
Please be advised that a 50mph speed limit will be in operation for the duration of these works.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.

This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety of the carriageway in this location.

Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
