M74 Junction 8 Southbound Off-Slip | BT Overnight Roadworks

M Group is reminding residents and motorists of an upcoming slip road closure on the M74 J8 S/B offslip, scheduled to take place in March 2026.

The M74 J8 S/B offslip will be closed nightly from 22:00 on Tuesday 24 March 2026 until 06:00 on Friday 27 March 2026. The restriction will be removed each morning and reinstated for each subsequent night shift.

Signage will be in place ahead of the road closure with a diversion route in place via the M74 S/B J9 Off Slip>  B7078, Carlisle Road> Canderside Toll.

The closure is required to facilitate essential infrastructure works being carried out on behalf of Openreach. As part of the expansion of the fibre network in the area, M Group operatives will undertake test-rod, rope, and cabling activities to confirm duct routes and install cabling to surrounding properties.

Traffic management for the works will be delivered by Coneworx on behalf of M Group. Advance Warning signage will be displayed prior to the closure starting on 17/03/26.
