M74 Junction 8-7 Larkhall | Resurfacing Works
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential resurfacing on the northbound M74 at Larkhall, between Junctions 8 and 7, from Wednesday 27th May until Wednesday 3rd June between the hours of 8pm and 6am each night.
This work will require overnight lane closures of the northbound M74 carriageway and Junction 8 on slip. Traffic will be diverted via the Junction 8 off slip, A71 Ayr Road, Cornsilloch Roundabout, A72 Lanark Road and the Junction 7 on slip, where this diversion will end.
On Saturday 30th May and Sunday 31st May, daytime lane closures will be in operation from 6am to 8pm. During these times, the hard shoulder will be used as a traffic lane.
All traffic management will be removed by 6am on Wednesday 3rd June 2026.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety and condition of the carriageway in this location.
Road users are thanked for their patience and understanding while this work is being undertaken.
