M74 at Candermill Road Overbridge | Between Junctions 8 and 9 | Essential Barrier Replacements
Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential barrier replacements on the M74 Candermill Road overbridge (between junctions 8 and 9) from Monday 2nd February until Sunday 22nd February 2026 under a 24-hour continuous road closure.
Southbound traffic will be diverted via Marlage Road, Netherburn Road, Ashgillhead Road, Ayr Road, Carlisle Road and Candermill Road. Northbound traffic will take the above diversion route in reverse.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.
Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
This scheme will benefit vehicles using this route each day, by improving the safety of the carriageway structure in this location.
