Road users are advised that the M73 southbound carriageway at Junction 2 Baillieston between the off slip road and the on slip road, will be closed for five consecutive nights, from 8pm to 6am the following day, commencing Monday 13 July 2026, for essential bridge joint replacement works.

The works are planned to be undertaken as follows:

The M73 southbound carriageway at Junction 2 Baillieston between the off slip road and the on slip road, will be closed overnight for five consecutive nights, from 8pm to 6am the following morning, on the following dates:

· Monday 13 July to Friday 17 July (5 nights)

The closures are required to ensure road user and road worker safety whilst essential bridge joint replacement works are undertaken and have been scheduled overnight to minimise disruption to traffic. The road will reopen at 6am each morning.

A signed diversion route will be in place via the M73 southbound Junction 2 Baillieston off slip road to A8 Baillieston roundabout, take 2nd exit for M73 southbound Junction 2 Baillieston on slip road and continue M73 southbound. The diversion route is very short, off and back on to the M73 southbound at Junction 2 Baillieston, with minimal distance and 1 minute of additional time added to affected journeys.

Emergency services access will be maintained.

These works will be carried out by Scottish Road Partnership on behalf of Transport Scotland to maintain the integrity and safety of this route.

The works have been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland and the emergency services.

Please note, all works are weather dependent and may be rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
